VOLUNTEER LAWYERS PROJECT STAFF

Virginia (Ginny) Conlan Whitman is a Managing Attorney of the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati, and the Managing Attorney of the Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP). Ginny joined Legal Aid in June 2007, after twenty-four years of private practice, primarily in the areas of employment law and general litigation.  Ginny graduated with honors from the University Of Cincinnati College Of Law, and clerked for two years for the Honorable S. Arthur Spiegel, United States District Court Judge.  She is a life member of the Sixth Circuit Judicial Conference, and is the Court appointed Special Master of a $60 million class action settlement under the jurisdiction of the US District Court in Cincinnati.  Ginny has received an “AV” rating from Martindale Hubbell for a number of years. Rhonda King is the Pro Bono Coordinator of the Volunteer Lawyers Project.Rhonda has been with the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati since 1987.  She is currently the Pro Bono Coordinator for Volunteer Lawyers Project.  She shares her time as a Paralegal on the Family Law Team.  Rhonda oversees the Divorce Clinic Program that provides divorce assistance in non-issue divorce cases in Butler, Clermont, Hamilton and Warren Counties.  She is a committee member and involved with the planning for the annual “She Screams Without Sound Candlelight Vigil” event in Hamilton County, and has developed relationships with both YWCA and Women Helping Women.  Rhonda is a resident of Clermont County; she attended the Paralegal Studies Program at Clermont College of the University of Cincinnati and is also very involved with community outreach projects in Northern Kentucky. Ron Rigby, VLP Administrative Assistant.  Ron began working at the Legal Aid Society in July 2001, and transferred to the Volunteer Lawyers Project in September 2003.  Ron is a Cincinnati native and graduated University of Cincinnati with a degree in Business Administration.  Ron’s responsibilities include client and attorney correspondence and communications, case assignments, working with clients in need of an expungement and general administrative assistant duties.  Ron worked ten years as a Human Resources Analyst at Anderson Consulting’s world headquarters in Chicago and has co-authored a mystery novel(unpublished), and a play (produced in Chicago). Daveen Knue, Public Allies Intern with the VLP in the Cincinnati office. She started at Legal Aid on September 17, 2012. Daveen has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in German studies, and she can speak conversational German. Daveen has spent her life in Cincinnati and she loves the Cincinnati Zoo. She likes going to locally owned restaurants and trying new foods, word and trivia games, and strategic video games.
